Scott Martin joined WFTV Channel 9 in March 2025. Originally from Oklahoma, Scott’s excited to experience all that Central Florida has to offer. His most recent work was as the weekend morning anchor and multimedia journalist at FOX23 in Tulsa. He covered President Biden’s visit to the city’s historic Greenwood District to commemorate the centennial of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Scott also reported when archeologists discovered surnames linked to possible victims from that dark time. He’s no stranger to mother nature’s wrath coming from tornado alley. He’s covered countless tornadoes, including the deadly EF4 that leveled the town of Barnsdall in 2024. Scott’s journalism career started in 2015 at KTEN in Denison, Texas. He worked as a reporter, producer, and anchor. He landed his first main anchor role in 2017 and moved to the Deep South where he worked at WCBI in Columbus, Mississippi. There he covered the state’s historical move to change the Mississippi flag removing the confederate emblem. The state was also privy to presidential visits where he covered President Donald Trump’s two visits to the Magnolia State. New to the area, Scott says he can’t wait to explore Central Florida. “I’ve only ever been to the panhandle. I’ve always wanted to live much closer to the beach and felt like I am Florida. I’m so excited to be part of the community,” said Scott. You’ll likely find Scott and his fiancé by the water or the dog park with his two pups, Moose, a miniature schnauzer, and Louie, a French Bulldog.
