PepsiCo plans hundreds of North American layoffs

PepsiCo is reportedly preparing to layoff hundreds of workers at headquarters in Illinois, New York, and Texas.

A report has said that the company behind the Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, and Lays brands is looking to “simplify” the organization.

According to a memo seen by the Wall Street Journal, PepsiCo’s plan is to “simplify the organization so we can operate more efficiently.”

As of December of 2021, PepsiCo employed 129 thousand workers in the U.S.
