Married couples more likely to divorce if they sleep in ‘reverse spoon’

Some of the signs you’re headed for divorce could be subtle, including the position you sleep in at night.

A new U.K. survey finds that nearly 90 percent of divorced couples reported sleeping in the female spoon position (both people laying on their sides with the woman spooning the man) before getting divorced.

Specifically, 86 percent said this was the most common sleeping position they found themselves sleeping in before calling it quits on their marriage.

Some experts say this position is an indication that something is disconnected within the relationship, and one sleep science coach adds that women tend to sleep in this position when they’re “not getting enough attention or affection.”

In turn this is said to make men feel like they’re “being overpowered or smothered” by their partner. It’s thought that in the long run this can lead to “suppressed feelings of discontent” which could in turn lead to divorce.
