A snake at a college in England named Ronaldo has once again surprised the community by giving birth to 12 offspring without mating.

The Brazilian rainbow boa first made headlines in 2024 when she produced 14 babies without contact with another snake.

This asexual reproduction, known as parthenogenesis, is rare in vertebrates and especially uncommon in species like the Brazilian rainbow boa.

Ronaldo is now resting and recovering alongside her new brood, and will be turning 14 years old this summer.
