7:40 a.m. update:
Orlando firefighters have confirmed one person was found dead inside a home that caught fire early Wednesday morning.
Officials said the victim was found dead inside a home on Sextant Drive that was gutted by fire.
Original story:
Firefighters are looking into two different fires in Orange County that started just minutes apart.
Orlando firefighters responded around 3 a.m. to a house fire on Sextant Drive, not far from Chickasaw Elementary School.
When our partners at Channel 9 arrived, flames were seen near the roof and a lot of smoke was pouring out of the structure.
It’s unknown what started the fire, if anyone was there when it happened and if anyone was hurt.
And around the same time, Orange County firefighters respond to calls about a fire about 6 miles away.
The other early morning house fire happened on Overdale Street, not too far from the Valencia College East Campus.
Both homes sustained major damage.
