Orlando Police asking for tips after downtown shooting

ORLANDO Fla. — Police are asking the public to come forward with information after a man was shot during a fight Saturday in downtown.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. near the intersection of E Pine St. and W Court Ave., among a cluster of bars just south of the Orange County Regional History Center.

As people ran from the shooting, a man seen wearing what appears to be a small backpack was captured on surveillance video:

Police say that their detectives want to speak with this man, and they encourage anyone who recognizes him to contact Crimeline.

The adult male who police say was shot in the altercation suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The man reportedly arrived at ORMC on his own and does not want to cooperate with the investigation, nor do they wish to prosecute.

Police say that it’s unclear what started the fight, but they responded to the scene fast enough to hear “several gunshots,” per their report.
