"I think my pranking days are over as of today."
Joshua James was freed from the Palm Beach County jail on $6,000 bond Tuesday after being arrested for now famously tossing a live 3 1/2 foot alligator through the drive-thru window of a Wendy's restaurant while he was waiting for his order.
James says he and his friends picked up the gator from the side of the road and thought it would be funny to play a joke on their friend who was working at the restaurant.
"We're just like outdoors kinda people and just anything we find we kinda just like catch - you know, snakes, lizards, anything," James tells ABC Action News. "And we just saw an alligator and caught it and were handling it and like I said, ideas start popping and one thing lead to another."
He did offer an apology to the workers that were there that day and says he's learned his lesson.
"I found out what the consequences were and I've got to pay for them."
In addition to having no contact with animals or weapons, a judge has ordered James to undergo a mental health evaluation and stay away from all Wendy's restaurants.
