Man shot in drug deal gone bad

Argument over money leads to a hospital stay.

A man was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center early Thursday morning after being shot during a bad drug deal.

According to officers, the shooting happened at North and Spruce Streets during a crack cocaine sale.

An argument escalated and the suspect pulled out a gun and started firing. The victim was rushed to the hospital and we're told he has non life-threatening injuries to his leg.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Dwayne Mitchell and booked him into the Volusia County Jail.
