‘It’s heartbreaking’: Orlando doctor receives threatening mail for stance on masks, COVID-19 vaccine

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — As an Orlando-based surgeon, urogynecologist, obstetrician and physician’s advisor, Dr. Meadow Good is outspoken on social media about protecting her patients against COVID-19, imploring them to wear a mask and get vaccinated.

A week ago, she tweeted a video of her 3-year-old asking a man on an elevator why he wasn’t wearing a mask.

The stranger was kind, but the post went viral, sparking thousands of retweets and replies — some supportive, some critical.

A few days later her husband brought in an envelope from the mailbox that had no return address. Inside it was a photo of a swastika.

“It’s heartbreaking, to see people react in a malicious way, in a hurtful way,” Good said.

Good reported the anonymous letter to Maitland police and the FBI tip line, but says her duty to patients presses on.

“This is not a political statement, this is a life-or-death statement,” Good said.

She said she is moving forward with no intention of adjusting the mission that sent her to medical school.

Good said she hopes this was a result of someone who was simply stressed and made a poor choice in venting that frustration.
