Torie Keene from Lakeland, Florida said she never expected 250 people to play along when she paid for the meal of the car behind her in the drive-thru line.
Inspired by a little Christmas spirit, the cashier, Marisabel Figueroa told ABC News, Keene specifically requested she say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays."
After the next customer learned of Keene’s generosity, Figueroa said she was inspired to pay for the next person in line.
"It kept going and going," Figueroa said, "After the 15th car, I started tally marking the number of people that were participating. They were all so stunned and so happy."
After some coverage on local media, Keene reached out to the cashier on Facebook to own up to her good deed, according to ABC News.
After 12 years working at McDonald’s, Figueroa said she had never seen anything like that happen.
“I feel very blessed to have been a part of all that,” she explained.
