ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The family of a 20-year-old woman who was shot and killed Wednesday at an apartment complex on Ivey Lane is speaking out, urging authorities to find those responsible and deliver justice.
According to family members, Celebrity Green was babysitting her 3-year-old cousin inside a unit at the Avalyn West Orlando Apartments when a gunman opened fire.
Green’s mother, still grappling with the loss, described the painful reality of returning home without her daughter.
“She should have came back home. Everything in her room is in the same place it was when she left,” she said. “And I have to look at that and be reminded every day that I don’t have my child.”
Family members say Green was ambitious and driven, working as a home health aide while planning for a brighter future. Her cousin, Devonte Stallings, recalled their final conversation, saying she was focused on her goals and her family.
“She told me she just wanted to take care of her mom, look out for her siblings, and go to college,” Stallings said.
Loved ones described Green as compassionate and full of life.
“Her smile lights up the room. She’s very intelligent, non-judgmental, always looking at the bright side of things,” her mother said. “Just a great girl—beautiful.”
A GoFundMe has been started to help cover funeral expenses and memorial arrangements for Celebrity Green
As the Orlando Police Department continues its investigation into Green’s death, authorities are also looking into another recent homicide just two blocks away. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says a woman in her 20s was shot and killed on Ivey Lane March 17.
Neighbors say they have noticed an increased police presence since the incidents.
