911 calls reveal horror of Sept. hotel shooting

Michelet Polynice (Joe Ruble)

The Orange County Sheriff's Office today released the 911 call made by a guest at the Quality Suites near International Drive when Michelet Polynice walked in with a gun and started shooting.

"There was a guy in here with a gun. He fired it. We heard a couple of shots in the dining room and then he came into the dining room and fired a couple of random shots in the air," the caller told dispatchers as deputies arrived.

The 33-year-old Polynice was after his ex-girlfriend, Carlene Pierre, and killed her and her co-worker behind a desk.

Police gave chase, but Polynice crashed his car and it broke into flames. Police say he committed suicide.

The victim had asked a court to keep him from her after she reported that he choked her and threatened to kill her.

"He is very jealous, very controlling, he has a temper, anything will set him off." she wrote in her petition to the court, which was granted.

Hours later, she was dead.
