India — Hold onto you stomach, this story is a bit graphic!
A 22-year-old woman in India reportedly underwent surgery after she became sick and was unable to eat.
X-rays shared on the hospital's Facebook page, show the mass of metal in the the woman's stomach, but doctors said they did not imagine the amount of treasure that was inside.
Surgeons at the Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital told Unilad that they had to wait a week just to stabilize the woman even before surgery could be performed.
The operation lasted for a little over an hour and surgeons reported removing chains, nose rings, earrings, trinkets, bangles, 90 coins and even a wristwatch.
The Facebook page says the contents weighed nearly 68 kg which is about 149 pounds!
The woman is recovering and also undergoing psychiatric treatment for Pica, an eating disorder where people eat items that are not typically thought of as food.
Officials believe she took the items from her brother’s jewelry shop where the family had noticed several things missing.
