Minecraft player Jordan "CaptainSparklez" Maron bought a 4,100-square-foot, three-story home in Los Angeles, using money he generated from Youtube videos, narrating "Let's Play" sessions of the popular game.
Maron's videos have been watched over 1.9 billion times to date and his channel holds nearly 9 million subscribers. He's also among the top 100 most subscribed channels on Youtube.
A fan following along with ad revenue and advertising partnerships have helped Maron accumulate his wealth. His house overlooks L.A.'s Sunset Strip, with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and an infinity swimming pool.
Other Minecraft players have also been noted for making money off of these videos. The game's creator, Markus "Notch" Persson bought a $70 million home in Beverly Hills. He sold the game and the development studio, Mojang, to Microsoft last year for a reported $2.5 billion.
