An anaconda is on the loose in New Jersey's biggest freshwater lake - (Lake Hopatcong) and a reptile specialist says he was 'sworn to keep his mouth shut by local officials' worried about scaring away tourists.
The snake - estimated to be about 16 feet has been known to locals, but was always reported to be a boa constrictor.
But now it has been revealed that the search is on for the world's heaviest and one of the world's longest snakes, the green anaconda.
The reptile specialist says the difference is the boa only eats when hungry, and the anaconda is aggressive, and always on the hunt.
