Great Gonerby, Lincolnshire — The news of a woman in the UK who cut and ate her pet hamster is shocking and disturbing animal lovers around the world.
According to reports, the woman identified as Emma Parker killed her daughter’s pet hamster, Mr. Nibbles, for a snack.
A video posted to the internet shows the woman plunging a knife into a hamster ball and moving it from side to side, injuring the hamster.
The second shows her killing and consuming the rodent.
The 39-year old admitted to police that she was the woman in the video but claimed she was helping the hamster die after it had been bitten by one of her dogs earlier in the day.
Another report claims she killed and ate the hamster in exchange for drugs.
Park has been sentenced to jail for 12 months.
Woman cuts a living hamster in half and eats it in return for drugs. The judge says he has to take into account that the maximum sentence for such animal cruelty was recently raised from 6 months to 5 years.
