Tampa Bay, Fla. — John Taylor Timmons was visiting his home state of Florida last weekend when he reeled in a whopper using what he called ‘Florida’s state food’ as bait.
The 26-year-old was fishing from a sand bar in Tampa Bay when he tried using Publix fried chicken on the hook and withing 10 seconds he caught a 33-inch snook.
Red Eye Productions based in Savannah, Georgia posted a video of the big catch on their Facebook page, Timmons is the President of the company.
A woman in the video can be heard saying, “Fried chicken, fried chicken!”
Onlookers cheered as he showed off the big catch.
