FLATWOODS, Ky. — A Kentucky toddler is in stable condition after suffering an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.
According to WSAZ and WOWK, the incident occurred Saturday night at a Flatwoods home. Kentucky State Police said the 2-year-old found an unsecured gun, which went off, striking the child’s head, the news outlets reported.
The toddler was rushed to a nearby hospital and is listed in stable condition, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
