Google is helping people who have food insecurity through a new initiative that was recently launched.
Google unveiled the Find Food Support website that helps people find free food that’s available in their community.
There’s also a Google Maps tool.
The site also is a clearinghouse of information on state benefits, and information for older people, children and military families.
Google said that one in 10 households has food insecurity, as do one in eight active-duty military families and one in three college students.
The information was compiled from No Kid Hungry, USDA and FoodFinder, according to the Find Food Support site.
The company said that 45 million, including 15 million children, did not have a consistent source of food last year.
The support site can also connect people who want to give their money, time or food to agencies that can get help to those who need it. For more on how you can get involved, click here.
