A tourist from New Zealand is dead on the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten, after hitting her had on a hard surface when blown back from the blast from a jet preparing to takeoff from Princess Juliana International Airport.
The airport runway is famous for its proximity to the gorgeous beaches on the approach and takeoff, where tourists come from around the world to experience the very closeness that proved deadly this week.

The incident took place just after 5:00pm. She was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further treatment. However, doctors were not able to stabilize the woman.
