Yankee Candles are notoriously pungent...but a spike in negative reviews in 2020 indicated that the candles had lost their smell.
Research has concluded that the culprit could be Covid-19.
Northeastern University research shows a correlation between negative Yankee Candle reviews and surges in Covid cases.
For every 100,000 new covid cases, “no smell” reviews of the candles went up by .25%.
“The scent of these candles are so strong that I can’t walk within 50 feet of a display without feeling like a monster pumpkin pie assaulted me, complete with massive headache,” one candle review reads. “If you can’t smell this pie beast then you have Covid.”
