As New Yorkers scowl through bitter, biting winter winds, Disney has been busy making some unsuspecting mall shoppers smile in a magical way.
As shoppers at the Westfield Sunrise Center walked past the "Umbra Penumbra Magic Shop" they caught, out of the corner of their eye, a shadow following them.
Not just any shadow, but Mickey Mouse.
Or Mickey's friends Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.
Princesses, evil queens, and Buzz Lightyear and Woody from "Toy Story" can also be seen copying the movements of passersby, sometimes even breaking into some stellar dance moves.
"Hold on," one shopper says to the person on the other end of his cell, "I think I'm getting shadowed by...Goofy."
The hidden camera stunt, which was used to promote the company's "Disney Side" campaign, shows old and young alike giggling and trying to out move, or out dance, their shadow counterparts.
Eventually the screen covering the characters and the "Umbra Penumbra Magic Shop"," which was established in 1955, the same year as Disneyland, open to reveal the characters, much to the elation of mall visitors.
