ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA — Accused cop killer Markeith Loyd will have some more explaining to do after a report that he sent text messages to his pregnant ex-girlfriend Sade Dixon after shooting her last December.
"Don't know if you go make it, hope you don't," is one of the messages that Loyd reportedly sent, according to documents obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
Hours later, he sent another message.
"You caused this," and blamed Dixon's brother for intervening the night he shot her. Dixon's brother was also shot but lived.
There is also reportedly a 10-page letter, written by Loyd, that lays out why he shot Dixon. It was found in the home on Lascott Lane in Orlando where Loyd was found by police on January 17 after a weeks-long manhunt. He also called the death of their unborn baby an "unintended consequence."
Loyd is charged with murder for the deaths of Dixon and Orlando Police Lt. Debra Clayton, who approached him outside of a Walmart in January.
Loyd's next court appearance is scheduled for next month.
