Gainesville, Fla. — 26 year old former World Wrestling Entertainment cruiserweight champion Rich Swann was arrested Saturday in Gainesville.
The arrest reports says that after a nightclub show in the area, Swann and his wife, wrestler Vannarah Riggs, who goes by Su Yung, got into an argument after Swan critiqued her performance.
Authorities said Riggs was worried the argument would escalate, so she left the vehicle in the middle of traffic and began walking away.
A witness told police that Swann didn't park the car and that it crashed into a telephone pole.
Swann allegedly grabbed his wife by the arm, put her in a headlock and dragged her back to the vehicle.
Police say Swann denied grabbing her and that she went back to the car on her own.
Swann is being held in jail without bail on charges of battery and false imprisonment. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
The WWE released a statement saying: WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."
