Woman dies after being caught in Daytona Beach rip current A woman who was caught in a rip current in Daytona Beach last week has died.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A woman who was caught in a rip current in Daytona Beach last week has died.

The 58-year-old woman was pulled unconscious from the ocean near 150 S. Ocean Avenue on the afternoon of Sept. 26. She was taken to a hospital, where she died on Friday.

Beach safety officials confirmed the death was due to the rip current.
