Pompano Beach, FLa — Home surveillance video caught the moments of panic after a 5-year-old boy became trapped inside an igloo cooler.
The video from March 2, 2019 shows the boy crawling into the cooler and closing the lid.
He knocks the lid a couple of times and the stainless steel latch closes and locks.
The boys screams alerts the entire family and they go out looking for him. After a frantic moment they discover that his is inside the cooler.
Luckily the boy was not harmed.
Now Igloo Coolers has issued a recall of four cooler models.
The four affected units include:
- Igloo Marine Elite 72-quart cooler, item #00049375
- Igloo Marine Elite 54-quart cooler, item #00049374
- Igloo Marine Elite 94-quart cooler, item #00049574
- Igloo Marine Elite 110-quart cooler, item #00034108
Igloo said it is working with West Marine to send customers a free latch-replacement kit.
Customers can call 1-888–257–0934 to see if a kit has been mailed to them.
