ORLANDO, Fla. — The holiday season is fast approaching and one of the world’s largest shipping companies is getting ready.
UPS is looking to hire 100,000 seasonal workers in the coming weeks and the company is hosting 170 hiring fairs across the country.
Among the hiring fairs to be held on “UPS Brown Friday” will be an event in Orlando.
UPS’ Vice President of Human Resources spoke to News 96.5 WDBO about the hiring effort. Danelle McCusker says UPS is hiring for an all-new position this year.
“Out of Orlando specifically, we’re looking to hire about 1,000 people that can be a warehouse worker, or what we call a part-time package handler, and if inside warehouse isn’t your thing, this year you can work out of your own personal vehicle,” said McCusker.
Friday’s hiring fair is being held at a UPS facility located at 8901 Atlantic Avenue, Orlando, FL 32824.
McCusker says job seekers should go online to begin the application process before attending the hiring fair.
