Rockledge, Fla. — Three people, including the accused guman, 28 year old Robert Lorenzo Bailey Junior were shot Friday afternoon outside an automotive store in Rockledge.
The shooting happened around 4:30 pm in the parking lot of the Schlenker Automotive at 296 Barton Boulevard.
Police Chief Joseph LaSata revealed at a news conference that the deceased victim is 50 year old Roger Lee Smith, a long time employee of Schlenker Automotive. The other victim, who has not yet been identified, has been paralyzed from the neck down.
Donna Seyferth with the Rockledge Police Department says an armed bystander shot and injured Bailey. Bailey was taken to the hospital and is undergoing surgery.
Bailey does have a concealed weapons permit, but does not have an arrest record. Bailey is going to be charged with one count of premeditated murder and two counts of attempted murder.
There are no reports of a connection between Bailey, the employees who were shot, or Schlenker Automotive.
At the moment, no motive has been established. No other injures were reported.
