TruTV reality star arrested for fraud

Reality TV star arrested

Reality star Nicole Clawson, 39, was arrested Thursday on fraud charges. She's appeared in several episodes of the TruTv show, Full Throttle Saloon, which follows a South Dakota bar. Producers on the show say she appeared one day during taping, saying she was there to give the bar $1 million as part of her father's last wishes. She kept hanging around during taping, and the first episode she appeared in aired on Wednesday.

She was arrested after someone called in a tip to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Detective Darren Norris with the Sheriff's Office says this wasn't the only fraud Clawson has masterminded. He says she's been seen around several area hospitals, posing as both a nurse and a cancer patient. She even shaved her head to make it look like she's going through chemotherapy.

Norris said she's also defrauded several men. One victim claims he thought he married her, and he helped her try to buy a $4 million, 11,000-square-foot home in Winter Garden.

The detective says he's convinced Clawson was involved in more schemes. If you have any information or think you were one of her victims, call Sumter County Sheriff's Office at 352-569-1680.
