Orrlando, Fla — After a weekend breather, the tropics are picking up again.
Tropical Depression 15 formed on Monday afternoon. The National Hurricane Center in Miami first began issuing advisories for the system Monday afternoon. As of 5 p.m., the depression was located off the southeastern United States, about 190 miles southwest of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
The system has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and will continue to move to the east-northeast, moving away from the eastern U.S.
Meteorologists are closely watching three other areas for development, with two of them having a high chance to develop by Wednesday.
The next two named storms will be called Nana and Omar.
Tropical Depression Fifteen has developed offshore of the coast of the Carolinas. This system is expected to remain offshore and begin to move away from the coastline on Tuesday, with only some slight strengthening expected. More info: https://t.co/tW4KeFW0gB pic.twitter.com/WzcZ1ESxKo
