Volusia County, Fla. — Several thousand Volusia County residents lost power on Tuesday afternoon, some for up to three hours, before it was restored around 7 p.m.
A Duke Energy spokesperson said the outages were caused by damage to the company's transmission line.
In New Smyrna Beach, there was a citywide power outage. Officials there said the outage had to do with a substation going down in DeBary.
The Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach said anyone with concerns can call the after-hours line at 386-427-1366.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office issued a warning about traffic lights being out urging drivers to use caution.
