"It is an amazing thing that happened out here today," is how Drew Kesse described the police effort in searching a wooded area for some sign of his daughter, Jennifer, who vanished from her Orlando home in January 2006.

Some 175 trained searchers, including members of Orlando police, Orange County and Osceola County sheriff's offices conducted a grid search off South International Drive at World Center Drive.

"Just an incredible effort out here," Kesse added.

Drew and his wife, Joyce, both spoke with reporters as the search wound down.

"There were a few things that have been found," she said, including some small bones that were initially determined to be from wild animals.

The Kesses were briefed by Orlando police after they arrived at the search site. Drew said he knew the search was being planned for months but did not know it was going to be conducted today, until he received a phone call at 7:30 a.m. at his Bradenton home.

Although the search did not appear to yield anything significant, he said he feels searchers will return. He told reporters that police had received a couple of credible tips leading them to the area. There have been 1,400 tips to police since Jennifer's disappearance, Kesse said.

"Orlando PD has rejuvenated itself, not only on this case, but other missings persons cases," he added.

24-year-old Jennifer Kesse failed to show up for work on January 26, 2006. Her car showed up hours later, but there's been no sign of her. No one has ever been charged in the case.
