ORLANDO -- WNBC-TV in New York reports that the Central Florida pastor found dead in his hotel room had a white powder in his pocket.
Dr. Zachery Tims of New Destiny Church in Apopka was found dead in his New York City hotel room Friday.
Sources tell WNBC-TV that an envelope with white powder was found in Tims' right pants pocket.
A representative with the New York City medical examiner's office declined to comment but said a toxicology and an autopsy report are pending.
In Tims' book, "It's Never Too Late," he revealed he was convicted of attempted murder at the age of 14 years old. He also admitted that he had a drug addiction.
Investigators say they're looking into whether the powder found is a controlled substance.
Meanwhile, a viewing is scheduled for this Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at New Destiny Christian Center. The funeral has been set for Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Orlando.
