Officers will be passing out flyers in the Mercy Drive area at 1 p.m. Friday, looking for leads to help them recover the guns stolen from the Central Florida Fairgrounds on July 4.
More than two weeks after surveillance video was released of the brazen gun heist, police believe they know where the guns might be.
On the Fourth of July weekend, police said shirtless thieves stole dozens of high-powered guns from a gun and knife show at the Central Florida Fairgrounds on West Colonial Drive.

On Thursday night, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said police believe the dangerous guns might be in the Mercy Drive area near West Colonial Drive.
Mina did not say what led him to believe this, but he said his officers plan to flood the Mercy Drive area Friday, passing out flyers and canvassing the neighborhood, in hopes someone will come forward with information on where the guns are.
“We got to come together and get these guns off the streets,” said Pastor Stovelleo Stovall. “I’m very concerned about it.”
Stovall said he’s urging suspected gang members thought to be responsible for the gun heist to surrender the weapons before the streets turn into a bloodbath.
“Let Pastor Stovall know where they are at, I’ll get them. You don’t have to be known. Your name will not be known,” he said.
