Oreos are America's favorite cookie but a recent tweet may have jeopardized that ranking.
On Sunday, Oreo sent an automatically generated tweet to a user called F***ING N*****, which means the retweet contained the offensive name. So Oreo's tweet ended up saying '@F***ING N***** Sweet! Check here for a chance to get a free pack of one of our new limited editions.'
The company blamed the offensive tweet on a social media feature that automatically replies to someone during a giveaway, and unfortunately, automatically uses their online name whatever it may be.
The message was promptly removed and Oreo has issued an apology.
This isn't the first time Oreo has been accused of racism. The commercial below was banned because critics say it was racist.
