Dozens of Osceola County firefighters battled a huge blaze at the Evander Square Apartments Tuesday afternoon.
It's believed the fire at the complex off Latta Drive and Celebration Boulevard was sparked by lightning at around 4 p.m.
Crews had to deal with heavy smoke and flames pouring from the roof of one of the buildings.
We're told the fire nearly destroyed the top floor of that building causing damage to at least 24 apartments.
Officials said no one was injured in the fire.
The new housing complex was scheduled to open this summer. It's unclear what impact the fire will have on those plans. Units are being leased for between $1,100 and $1,800 according to their website.
