A disturbing photo posted to Facebook had Brevard County Animal Services slammed with phone calls from concerned residents.
The photo of a cat hanging from a rope over a lake as 'alligator bait' was posted online by Palm Bay resident Travis Fink. In the background of the photo, the nose of an alligator in popping out of the lake.
Fink claims that the picture was taken at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center on Friday Road. Comments from people that saw the photo were horrified.
But the photo may be a fake.
The complex is currently under construction and the job site manager says the picture was 'Photoshopped' by a 'disgruntled employee' who they say has an extensive criminal history.
We're told Florida Fish and Wildlife investigated the lake and found no evidence to support that the picture is real.
