Orange County, Fla. — Detectives from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit report that the person of interest in the death of a missing woman, Christian Valentin Penchi(right picture) has been arrested Saturday afternoon.
23 year old Vanessa Cocly(left picture) was reported missing on March 31 and was last seen leaving Cypress Street in Taft. Her body was found at the Sand Lake Courtyard Condominiums at Sand Lake Road and Orange Blossom Trail.
Penchi reportedly had an on and off again relationship with Cocly and was considered a person of interest.
Detectives report that Penchi has been arrested in Puerto Rico on a warrant for 1st degree murder. He is also facing an unrelated charge of grand theft.
There are no details at this time about the details regarding his extradition.
