Orlando Police Department investigating crash on John Young Parkway, roads closed

There is a large police presence on John Young Parkway between L B McLeod Road and Columbia Street regarding an accident that took place this morning.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Police Department is currently investigating a crash that took place on John Young Parkway, south of Columbia Street.

UPDATE:

The Orlando Police Department released the following statement regarding the crash:

“On September 15, at approximately 6:50 a.m., officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 3000 block of South John Young Parkway. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries.

All lanes of John Young Parkway are now open.

This is an active investigation."

PREVIOUS ARTICLE: All northbound lanes of John Young Parkway are currently closed at this time between L B McLeod Road and Columbia Street, while some southbound lanes have opened back up.

There is still one southbound lane closed as you pass Columbia Street.

Drivers are advised to use an alternate route and expect delays in the area.
