If passed, some street vendors would have to follow a new set of rules.
City officials said the goal is to better regulate the hours and locations of vendors to make sure they are operating legally.
Orlando’s street vendor program will allow cart owners to sell food until 2:30 a.m., as long as they clear out by 3 a.m.

The city will also allow 12 vendors to set up at 10 different locations around the downtown area.
Instead of paying private property owners a lease, vendors will set up on sidewalks and have to pay the city for a permit to operate.
The city of Orlando released a statement about the new program, saying in part, “our goal is to keep the vendors downtown, but have specific rules.”

Those rules include properly disposing of gray water, not loitering after the bars close along with having the proper insurance and state licenses.
If vendors don’t have the right permits in order, they could face fines of up to $100 per violation.
The meeting and vote to approve this pilot program are Monday afternoon.
