Nestle recalls 'Hot Pockets' over bad meat

Nestle has announced a massive recall on Hot Pockets.

The company says about 238,000 cases of 'Philly Steak and Cheese' Hot Pockets and Hot Pockets 'Croissant Crust Philly Steak and Cheese' may be tainted with "diseased and unsound" beef products.

Nestle says the meat used in these pastries was produced by Rancho Feeding Corp. last year. Last week, the California plant recalled 8.7 million pounds of beef. According to the USDA, the beef was not inspected and not safe.

Rancho's products reportedly went out to nearly 1,000 vendors in several states, including Florida.

"From this review, we have confirmed that a small quantity of meat from Rancho was used at Nestle's Chatsworth, California production operation, a facility devoted entirely to Hot Pockets brand sandwiches," said a firm that works with Nestle and helped purchase the bad meat.

So far, no illnesses have been reported.
