A lawsuit against Walt Disney World resulting from the crash of a monorail that took a driver's life has been dismissed.
Investigators said a monorail backed into the train and killed the 21- year-old driver, Austin Wuennenberg, in July 2009.
Officials said Wuennenberg was just seconds late to the Ticket and Transport Center, the giant hub for travel just across the lake from the Magic Kingdom.
He had been a monorail driver for six months, and called it his dream job on Facebook. He was also a student at Stetson University.
His mother filed a civil suit against the park in 2010, claiming the on duty monorail manager that night was at a restaurant and was not properly supervising the line.
The suit was voluntarily dismissed last week.
WDBO called the attorney’s office for comment, but they have not yet responded.
