3 people shot near popular Orlando nightclub; victims not cooperating, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — 12 p.m. update:

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an early Monday morning shooting that left three people in the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 1:10 a.m. in a parking lot across the street from Gilt Nightclub.

According to deputies, the initial investigation revealed that an argument between two groups of people led to a shootout between them.

One of the men involved in the shooting was hit by gunfire and was driven to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Deputies said that later in the morning, patrol officers located two other adults with gunshot wounds at a local hospital.

According to deputies, the man and woman were in the area of the shooting and both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The two victims are not cooperating with investigators and have declined to press charges.

Officers responded to the area of E. Colonial Dr. and Bennett Rd., near Gilt nightclub, shortly after 1 a.m.

Investigators tell Eyewitness News that while the victim was shot at that location, he later showed up for treatment at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

He was shot in the leg and is expected to survive, according to police.

Detectives told WFTV they had not made an arrest and had no suspect description to release.
