Man dies after pickup truck strikes back of semi on I-4

Two lanes along a stretch of I-4 were closed due to a deadly crash.

A crash was reported around 1:15 a.m. near the Osceola Parkway exit near mile marker 65.

Troopers said a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on I-4 behind a semi truck when the pickup truck driver failed to slow down.

The 26-year-old driver of the pickup truck then swerved left and then right, troopers said. The front of his pickup truck struck the back of the semi’s trailer.

A 34-year-old man, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, died at the scene.

The 26-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. The semi truck driver was not injured, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
