Investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are sharing some of the evidence they have against a Seminole County man accused of feeding bears.
Terry Frana says Eugene Cifers lives just two doors down from her. She was mauled by a bear in the front yard of her Lake Mary home back in April.
The attack left Frana with 40 stiches in her head.
In an audio recording with FWC officers, Frana told investigators Cifers showed her pictures of him feeding the bears.
“He and his wife hand feeding the bears off their back patio,” she said in the recording. “Petting the bears. He’s named them all. He thinks he’s the bear whisperer.”
Cifers pleaded not guilty to charges of illegally feeding bears. A pretrial coference is scheduled for next week.
