Meet Luhu.
He's a cat with what is being called the 'saddest face on Instagram.' But don't confuse his discontent look with his true feelings: his owner Maggie Liu says Luhu is actually quite a happy kitty and "very friendly."Â
The Huffington Post reports that Luhu's constant look of dismay comes from an early eye infection--causing his eyes to turn downward.
"He got a pretty major operation on his eyes at that time," Liu tells ABC News. "So Luhu always opens his eyes pretty hard when he needs look at something."
Â
Luhu was born on August 12, 2012 and resides in Beijing with Liu and her two other cats, Barher and Bardie.Â
The 'sad' kitty has racked up more than 79,000 followers on his Instagram page. Liu says she knows Luhu is special but is surprised by his newfound fame.Â
"I put my cats pics on Instagram just for fun, actually," she added. "I never [thought] about Luhu [getting] so popular like this."
Luhu joins the ranks of other popular internet felines such as Maru, Sauerkraut, and the super popular Grumpy Cat.
