ORLANDO, Fla. — A non-profit organization based in Orlando is collecting gifts and donations to provide Christmas presents for children in need.
One Heart for Women and Children is collecting toys and gifts for children and teens of all ages.
Founder and CEO Stephanie Bowman tells us she started the Christmas toy drive more than a decade ago as a way to give back to the community. She and her children were homeless 20 years ago.
“We started our very first year 16 years ago with 26 kids for Christmas presents and last year we helped over 1,500. This year the need is even greater,” said Bowman.
Bowman says they are in need of toys for pre-school aged children and teens. She says if you’re unsure of what to buy, you can also donate money or gift cards of any denomination.
The drive runs through December 17.
