How to photograph the 'Blood Moon'

Lunar Eclipse timeline Courtesy www.eclipsewise.com
It's a supermoon lunar eclipse and it will happen Sunday, September 27, 2015.

Many call it a Blood Moon because as the earth's shadow falls across the surface of the moon the light emitted turns coppery red.

Tonight's moon is the last in a tetrad of Blood moon's that began in April 2014.  Many believe it will fufill the prophecy of the end-of-time.

Adding to those fears is the fact that tonight's eclipse also featres a supermoon, which means the moon is at it's closest point in it's orbit around the Earth appearing 33% brighter than normal.
The best thing is the timing of the celestial event -  Prime time.
The moon will begin to move between the Earth and Sun at 9:07 p.m. and will be in a total eclipse about 10:11.
If you plan to take pictures follow some of the guidelines below.
  • Steady your camera with a tripod.
  • Set your shutter speed to 1/15th or 1/8th of a second, nothing slower or it will be blurry.
  • Make sure that you are away from any other light source. Get away from street lights and parking lots.
  • Put something in the foreground to give your photo perspective, showing how big the super blood moon really appears.
  • Shoot a lot of photos!
