How the city of Oviedo came together to bring ‘Fred’ the Rooster home

Fred the Rooster was stolen on Wednesday afternoon from his owners at the My Oviedo Store.

Orlando, Fla. — If you know anything about Oviedo, it’s that they love their chickens—and roosters too.

One particular rooster, named Fred, is friendlier than most which is why he was adopted by local realtor Emma Reichert and the My Oviedo Store gift shop crew.

When Fred was snatched from the sidewalk outside the store on Monday afternoon, the kidnappers had no idea they had taken the most popular rooster in town.
