Many New York banking C.E.Os are now hiring "sober companions" to help them curb their addictions.
These companions will be working under cover, so as not to embarrass the individual. Often posing as personal assistants, bodyguards and drivers to the high-level executives, they travel with the C.E.Os at all times.
The idea is that the sober companion will be with the CEO to help them say no to drugs, alcohol, painkillers, and even prostitutes. In a way, they act like a 24/7 life coach.
Lindsay Lohan is a notable celebrity who used a sober companion in the past.
